L. A. Dance Project
Benjamin Millepied's dynamic L.A. Dance Project company is a real creative lab for modern choreography
In 2011, Benjamin Millepied said goodbye to the New York City Ballet, the company in which he had been principal dancer in all the major roles in his repertoire. The following year, he founded the L.A. Dance Project in Los Angeles, which he intended to be not just a dance company but primarily a creative hub for a group of artists in various fields (music, plastic arts, video, etc.). On the strength of its outstanding solo dancers and programmes that are open to other horizons, the L.A. Dance Project combines American modern dance (Graham, Cunningham) and a strong creative urge, deeply rooted in our time. Now the company is back in Paris to open the Theatre's season with an evening that combines the European premiere of Moon, Star, White by the founding figure of Martha Graham, Forsythe's modernity (with his moving Quintett) and the youthfulness of Millepied's latest creation (On The Other Side) and that of Justin Peck, the New York City Ballet's young soloist and resident choreographer.
Un grand classique et trois ballets inédits en France pour l'ouverture de la saison danse avec la compagnie dirigée par Benjamin Millepied.
