We thank you for your understanding
The American operatic tenor is particularly associated with the bel canto repertoire. Describing his voice, the general director of the Seattle Opera, said: "There are other singers that sing this repertory very well, but I don't think anyone else has quite as beautiful a sound and as rounded a tone," and praise his "incredible top notes. With him it's not a scream, it's a beautiful sound". For this recital, he is joined by the young Russian soprano, Aida Garifullina, who was trained in Germany and Vienna. After being spotted at a concert in 2012 by Valey Gergiev, she began her career at the Mariinsky as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, then as Gilda in Rigoletto and Adina in The Elixir of Love. Since then, her success in the Operalia competition and her highly-rated appearances at the Vienna Opera House, where she is currently in residence, have stirred an excited response in the opera world. She will make her debut at the Paris Opera House a month before this recital in the title role of Rimski-Korsakov's Snegourotchka. The aptly-named Aida has definitively entered the major league.
