Natalie Dessay combines the art of French melody and German lieder for a moment of musical poetry together with Philippe Cassard
This latest duo recital by Natalie Dessay and Philippe Cassard features German lieder, French melody and an immense musical partnership. Four years ago, they made their first recording: Debussy. Three years later, they returned with a second volume, entitled "Fiançailles pour rire", devoted to French song (Chausson, Chabrier, Duparc, Fauré, Poulenc). At the same time, they explored German lieder, which they presented in a recital before the likely release of a third recording. Their recital this season reflects this dual undertaking, with pieces by Schubert and Schumann, and French songs. We have no doubt that these two eminent musicians will, once again, seek out the truth in each word and render both the poetic and the musical dimension.
