Hearing violinist Lisa Batiashvili perform is always exciting. This soloist and chamber music player, who performs with today's greatest artists and plays a Stradivarius, has an immense repertoire. The oboist François Leleux presents some of his arrangements of arias from Mozart's The Magic Flute and Don Giovanni. The oboe does an admirable job of imitating a soprano voice, and conveys all the mischievousness, tenderness and sometimes cruelty of Mozart's characters. François Leleux also conduct three other works, by Fauré and Prokofiev, that are highlights of the symphonic repertoire.
