Andris Nelsons conductor
One of the best orchestras in the world and a visionary conductor to celebrate Bruckner's monumental Fifth Symphony
The first encounter between the Philharmonia Orchestra, Andris Nelsons and Bruckner took place last season in London during the masterful performance of Bruckner's Symphony No. 8, unanimously acclaimed by the British press. For their first joint visit to Paris, they have chosen to pursue the adventure with Bruckner, this time with his Symphony No. 5. Often considered to be the musician's most "classical" symphony, it nevertheless has all the qualities required for a conductor to reveal it as a modern, luminous work. Andris Nelsons undoubtedly has the talent to restore its full visionary clarity.
