David Fray piano
A Romantic evening with Nocturnes and Waltzes by Chopin and a Schubert Sonata popular with film-makers
His leading-man looks and natural elegance marked the beginnings of Frenchman David Fray's dazzling career. A student of Jacques Rouvier and winner of the Second Grand Prize at the Montreal competition, he came to the public's attention with a surprising and successful first recording of Bach and Boulez, a novel pairing that underscores his personality and his taste for musical affinities. In 2009, Virgin released a Schubert album (Six Moments musicaux and 4 Impromptus) that also made a lasting impression. In his unabashed and long-standing passion for the Romantic repertoire, he is a sensitive and virtuoso ambassador.
